Mahyar Ghassemian is the founding attorney of Ghassemian Law Group and currently manages the firm. Ms. Ghassemian received a master's degree in physics from California State University in Long Beach with honors and received her law degree from Western State University College of Law, graduating Cum Laude in 1999. She was sworn in by the Presiding Justice of the California Court of Appeal, for whom she clerked while in law school in December 1999.
Since then she has served as a business and construction litigator with some big name firms in Southern California. In 2010, she left a partnership in a well-known civil litigation firm to start her own firm Ghassemian & Associates, which then became Ghassemian Law Group in 2013.
Since 1999, Ms. Ghassemian has defended numerous National and California construction companies and a multitude of businesses in a variety of lawsuits ranging from multi-million-dollar complex litigation matters to smaller cases.
On the construction side, Ms. Ghassemian represents Contractors, Developers, Architects, Engineers, Custom Homeowners as well as other companies involved in construction.
Her master's degree in physics has performed an essential role in construction defect cases where an attorney has to assemble the right team of experts to opine about the defects, as well as be able to translate the experts' complex scientific language for the clients, opposing counsel and the court. Her in-depth knowledge of the Construction Industry is essential for proper understanding of her clients' issues and problems.
Ms. Ghassemian's business clients consist of an array of small and medium sized businesses, including Entrepreneurs, Business Centers, Tech Companies, Medical Groups, Dentists, Accountants and other corporate entities. Her experience in the corporate world has nurtured the business transactional and litigation practice of the firm, which ranges from corporate structuring and governance to litigation of a variety of business disputes.
She is also personal counsel to numerous Southern California Construction Companies as well as a multitude of other businesses. In this capacity, she helps her clients prevent litigation or minimize the cost of litigation through proper planning of their corporate structure, drafting the right contracts for them to use in everyday business as well as providing assistance with difficult clients, negotiations and sale or purchase of businesses.
Ms. Ghassemian regularly lectures on hot topics for the Construction Industry and writes articles for the SCCA and other construction industry magazines. She is fluent in English, Persian, Turkish, French and conversant in Spanish.
