Biography

Jeffery A. Korinko is an associate attorney at Ghassemian Law Group with over 30 years of litigation experience. His practice focuses on construction defects, contractor and tradesman negligence, property damage recovery, and complex insurance subrogation matters involving commercial and residential losses.

Mr. Korinko has handled a wide range of high-exposure property losses, with a particular emphasis on fire and water damage claims. He developed a specialized focus in commercial kitchen fire investigations after completing advanced training through Phil Ackland & Associates' Investigating Commercial Kitchen Fires seminar, and has built a consistent track record of recovering seven-figure settlements in complex restaurant fire cases.

Mr. Korinko also partnered with other subrogation attorneys in the prosecution of wildland fire claims in the Butte, Atlas, and Thomas wildland fire matters, helping to recover approximately $24,000,000 for clients in those matters.

A results-driven litigator, Mr. Korinko ranked as the top recovery attorney within Nationwide Trial Division (2010–2018), and previously led GEICO Staff Counsel's California Automobile Subrogation Litigation Unit to first-place national rankings in recoveries six times. He is also a trained mediator, having completed Pepperdine University's Strauss Institute Mediation: The Art of Facilitating Settlement in 2014.

Mr. Korinko is an active member of the construction and insurance communities. He served as Co-Chair of the Southern California Chapter of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP) from 2012 to 2016, co-chaired the 2015 Litigation Skills Conference, and has been a guest speaker at multiple NASP national conferences. In 2022, he served as a Guest Lecturer-Instructor for the California Council of Arson Investigators and has been invited to return for their October 2026 Conference. He also co-presented at the 2026 Combined Claims Conference on navigating the insurance appraisal process.

Mr. Korinko has a military background, having graduated from the U.S. Army Military Police School in June 1984 and served with the 6632nd Port Security M.P. Unit at Los Alamitos Armed Forces Reserve Center (U.S. Army Reserves).
